{Giveaway} While I don't let the kids play with phones and we still don't own an iPad for now, I welcome any gadget or game that helps them improve their problem solving and analytical skills.
Our recent favourite is the Dinky Musical Cube from Dinky Thingy, which is a fascinating and challenging game for young kids, older kids and even adults (I really like playing this too!). Yup, even though the girls have learnt to solve the basic Rubik's cubes, this is something totally different and I love how it helps to build up their cognitive (memory, logic and reasoning) and psychomotor (dexterity, hand eye coordination) skills.
There are four game modes to choose from - Score, Level, Memory and Multiplayer and you are tasked to flip, slide and match the colours either within a time limit or number of moves. I find the Memory mode most challenging of all because you are required to memorise the flashing lights before they go off and you only have five moves each time. Not easy, even for me! But that's what makes it so fun, right?
The girls are excited to play this and have learnt to take turns to play, even helping one another out when she gets stuck so that they can progress to the next level together. Yup, it's really sweet seeing how a simple activity like this can bond and hopefully bring them closer. Let's see if we can complete all the modes soon!
